- Dakuten (ใ) โ changes kโg, sโz, tโd, hโb
- Handakuten (ใ) โ changes hโp
- Combination sounds (small ใ, ใ , ใ) โ creates palatalized sounds like ใใ (kya), ใใ (shu), ใกใ (cho)

Mini Examples
Read these words aloud:
- ใใฃใใ (gakkou) โ school
- ใใฆใใใ (jitensha) โ bicycle
- ใใใ (kyou) โ today
- ใงใใ (denwa) โ telephone
- ใใ ใใ ใ (shukudai) โ homework
- ใณใใใใ (byouin) โ hospital
- ใใใใ (ryokou) โ travel
Common Mistake
Mistake: Confusing ใ (ji) with ใข (ji) or ใ (zu) with ใฅ (zu).
- ใ and ใ are very common.
- ใข and ใฅ are rare, mostly used in compound words (e.g., ใฏใชใข = hanaji = nosebleed).
- Tip: In daily Japanese, always write ใ and ใ unless you know the word uses ใข or ใฅ.
Mistake: Forgetting the small ใค (ใฃ) makes a double consonant.
- ใใฃใฆ (kitte) = stamp, not ใใฆ (kite) = come.
- The small ใค means you pause on the next consonant sound.
